Lynn Tramonte was invited by Cleveland Heights City Council Vice Chair Kahlil Seren to address the Public Safety and Health Committee on August 26, 2021 on the implications of local involvement in civil immigration enforcement.
Her testimony covered the racist origins of the immigration detention and deportation system; the legal, financial, and social reasons why local governments should not help enforce civil immigration laws; and a healthier alternative for immigration law and policy.
