You can’t make this stuff up. On June 8, we met with Morrow County Commissioner Tom Whiston to talk about the systemic failures at the Morrow County Jail, and present him with a petition to close the jail signed by 374 concerned Americans.

Commissioner Whiston waffled between telling us he’s not in a position of authority over the jail, to telling us the conditions are not as we described. (Never mind the fact that our claims are corroborated by a U.S. District Court Judge and other credible outside sources, or that he signed the jail’s contract with ICE. He is “the boss,” as my daughter bravely reminded him.)

It also turns out he has a financial stake in the jail’s operation. Watch here.
