Last night, Diop left Adelanto immigration jail in California and never looked back. He took his first steps on U.S. soil as a free man, because of your generous donations and social sharing.
This video captures Diop‘s first steps as a free person. In Mauritania, he lived in a slave-caste family. Now, he is free.
There is still a long road to go for Diop to win asylum and permanent freedom, but today his family is rejoicing and we are too.
