The Ohio Immigrant Alliance is close to wrapping up an 18-month research project about racism in immigration court. We are looking for a visual artist to contribute an image or images to the cover and branding of the resulting book, “Behind Closed Doors: Black Migrants and the Hidden Injustices of U.S. Immigration Courts,” to be published in March 2024.
This is a paid opportunity. In the interest of time and budget, however, we anticipate licensing an existing work or series rather than commissioning a new piece. The research is focused primarily on Black immigrants’ experiences with immigration jail, court, and deportation. In your email inquiry, you are invited to note any personal connections to migration, if you wish to.
